LLFW Prevails for NYPD Officer and City in Federal Jury Trial.

On October 22, 2012, LLFW prevailed in a federal jury trial in the Southern District of New York, in which it represented on a pro bono basis an NYPD Police Officer and the City of New York in a Section 1983 civil rights claim alleging excessive force and false arrest.  The jury found for the defendants on all claims.  LLFW undertook the defense of the trial as part of the Public Service Program of the Office of the Corporation Counsel of the City of New York.  The trial team consisted of lead counsel Alan Scheiner, Counsel at LLFW, and Assistant Corporation Counsel Virginia Nimick of the NYC Law Department.  LLFW Associates Catherine Hardee and Adam Weiss also assisted on the matter.  The trial was conducted under the direction of the Special Federal Litigation Division of the NYC Law Department.  LLFW is grateful for this opportunity to be of service to the NYPD and the City of New York.
